TGIF - How to connect

TGIF (Thank Goodness It is Friday) is our weekly amateur radio talk group on XLX159.

Amateur radio only — not CB, GMRS, or any other service. You need a valid amateur radio license and proper equipment to join.

Where to find TGIF

TGIF operates on XLX159, a multi-mode reflector. For this talk group the main modules are:

Use these settings in your hotspot, repeater controller, or software client.

Module letters for TGIF

Each mode uses a module letter. Use it after the XLX159 prefix in your URCALL / reflector field:

Hotspot setup (Pi-Star / WPSD)

  1. Log into your Pi-Star dashboard.
  2. Go to Configuration.
  3. Set D-Star Hostname to xlx159.duckdns.org.
  4. Set D-Star Port to 30001.
  5. For DMR, YSF, P25, NXDN, M17 or DCS use the ports above.
  6. Save and apply changes. Reboot your hotspot if needed.

Repeater / controller

If you run a Pi-Star or MMDVM-based repeater controller, configure the same hostname and port values above for the mode you want to bridge into TGIF.
